Copying data and images in spreadsheets

You can use keyboard shortcut keys in all browsers or menu item only in IE browser to cut, copy, and paste data and images within a spreadsheet, between spreadsheets, or between a spreadsheet and an external application.


  1. Select the range that you want to cut or copy.
    Tip: If the range that you select contains an image or hidden data, they will not be copied.
  2. Press Ctrl+X to cut, or Ctrl+C to copy.
  3. Click the location where you want to paste the data.
    Tip: You can also select a number of other cells as the location. The maximum number of cells you can select is 50,000.
  4. Press Ctrl+V to paste.
    Note: Within a spreadsheet, you can use Ctrl+A to copy an entire sheet of selected data, including styles and hidden data. However, styles and hidden data cannot be pasted to another spreadsheet in different browser or external application. Images in the spreadsheet cannot be pasted to external application.
