Spell-checking spreadsheets

You can check the spelling in a spreadsheet when you finish it.


  1. Click Tools > Run Manual Spell Check. The Spell Check window opens.
  2. To perform the manual spell check:
    • If the program finds spelling mistakes, in the Word not found field, the misspelled word in the sentence is red and underlined. A list of suggested words are displayed in the Replace with field. Select the word you want from the list, and click Replace to correct the misspelled word. If you do not want to correct this word, click Ignore.
    • If the program finds misspellings but no correct word is suggested, the Replace with field shows the message “No suggestions.” Click Ignore to proceed.
  3. After you complete the spell check, the message The spelling check is complete is displayed in Word not found field. Click Done.
