You can download a local copy of a file to a specified
location. You can also view the file contents.
About this task
You can download a local copy of a file. For example,
you can download a file that you own or a file that is shared with
you and for which Reader or Editor access is assigned. You can also
open and view the file.
Procedure
- Locate the file that you want to download and click its
name to open its file page.
For example, find the file
in Files by using tags or display a view where the file is visible,
such as My Files or Shared with
Me.
- Click Download from the file page.
Note: If you have a subscription to IBM Connections
Docs Cloud, and if the
file is sufficiently shared with you, click Edit to
open the shared file in the editor and begin editing or co-editing
within the file. See Editing a file using Connections Docs for
more information.
Note: If you want only to view the file, click Download and
when prompted, specify that you want to open the file.

- Specify the folder to save the file in and then click Save.
