Downloading a file

You can download a local copy of a file to a specified location. You can also view the file contents.

About this task

You can download a local copy of a file. For example, you can download a file that you own or a file that is shared with you and for which Reader or Editor access is assigned. You can also open and view the file.

  1. Locate the file that you want to download and click its name to open its file page.

For example, find the file in Files by using tags or display a view where the file is visible, such as My Files or Shared with Me.

  2. Click Download from the file page.
Note: If you have a subscription to IBM Connections Docs Cloud, and if the file is sufficiently shared with you, click Edit to open the shared file in the editor and begin editing or co-editing within the file. See Editing a file using Connections Docs for more information.
Note: If you want only to view the file, click Download and when prompted, specify that you want to open the file.
  3. Click Save File > OK.
  4. Specify the folder to save the file in and then click Save.
